Trusting Our Maker, Finding A Way
Welcome to TOMFAW, a place where stories—yours, mine, ours—meet faith, healing, and reflection. This is more than a single narrative; it’s a community, a process, and an invitation.
Our Mission
TOMFAW exists to provide a space where truth, vulnerability, and spiritual healing intersect. We believe that sharing our stories—whether of pain, doubt, or triumph—can help break isolation, foster connection, and guide us toward wholeness. Through storytelling, reflections, and shared experiences, we seek to encourage authenticity, empathy, and greater trust in God (or “the Maker”) even in messy seasons.
What You’ll Find Here
1. Sarah’s Story
This ongoing series is the core narrative thread at TOMFAW. Told in a third-person, reflective style, Sarah’s Story follows a woman’s journey through disillusionment, spiritual confusion, betrayal, and the slow path toward healing. While the narrative is inspired by lived experience, it is revised and fictionalized to protect privacy—names, places, and identifying details are altered. TOMFAW
Through diary-style reflections, we see how spiritual and emotional manipulation can distort perception, erode trust, and leave one feeling disoriented and fractured. But we also see the quiet work of recovery: reclaiming narrative, restoring boundaries, rejoining faith in healthy ways, and discovering intimacy—with self, others, and God.
2. Write Your Story / Your Story
This is your space. Here you can share your own experiences—your pain, your revelations, your journey from darkness to light. Whether you are just beginning to name things or you’ve walked this road for years, your story matters.
We offer prompts, guided reflections, and a supportive structure to help you shape your narrative. (And you’re welcome to share all or parts of it publicly or privately, depending on what feels safe for you.)
3. Reflections, Devotionals, & Resource Posts
Beyond narratives, we publish shorter reflections, devotionals, questions for further thought, and curated resources (books, podcasts, articles) that align with honest, grace-oriented healing. These posts are meant to accompany you in day-to-day life—moments when you need encouragement, clarity, or permission to pause.
4. The Forum / Community Space
TOMFAW isn’t meant to be a monologue. In our forum (or community area), readers can connect, respond to questions, offer wisdom, or simply bear witness to one another’s stories. It’s a moderated, safe space designed for support, not judgment.
5. Resources & Help
Recognizing the seriousness of spiritual/emotional harm, our site includes a resource hub: recommended books, trustworthy podcast episodes, helpline links, and professional support referrals. While TOMFAW is not a substitute for counseling or crisis care, we aim to connect you with tools and help when needed.
How It Works / What to Expect
-
Narrative and Reflection Together — The story of Sarah and our resource/reflection content are meant to complement each other. You can journey alongside her story while also having access to practical or spiritual insights.
-
No Perfect Path — Healing is nonlinear. You might read a beautiful devotional one day and feel stuck the next. That’s expected, and you’re invited to stay even in the hard parts.
-
You Get to Decide What You Share — Whether you post your whole story or a small part, whether you comment or stay quiet, you have agency here.
-
Respect, Confidentiality, Grace — All submissions and comments are handled with care. We aim to cultivate an environment of empathy and safety.
Why “TOMFAW”?
TOMFAW stands for Trusting Our Maker, Finding A Way. That name captures both the tension and the hope at the heart of this work: sometimes we can’t see the way forward, and trusting feels fragile. But in the process—through stories, through community, through faith—there is a path.
